Birth Announcement

Clients are expecting their first child and commissioned for this very personal birth annoucement. we discussed what are their favorite hobby and the things that are important to them. the list became very long as they've got excited to see this project coming to life. we kept only a few keywords to inspire me: nature, paddling, their two cats and fireflies

The two first sketches were done digitally

The final sketch: we removed the unnecessary ornaments and using the real pets as references. The dragonflies became fireflies buzzing around.

The final illustration it took me circa three days to finish it.
I mainly use watercolour and coloured pencils to paint it and there is a bit of dry pastel to smoothen the edge of the lights.
